Promoting Arts and Culture side-by-side with the Street Arts Festival
(September 23th) ‘The Street Arts festival’ was held at the school during the HSB/NOVA Community BBQ.  Workshops on graffiti, multimedia, dance and music through demonstrations were held in collaboration with professional artists. Free meals and fun activities added to the amazing event.

Partnering to provide more extra-curricular activities
A partnership was made with the ACADÉMIE M.L. TENNIS. Students from Grades 2-6 will benefit from tennis courses. ArtSparkz will also be providing therapeutic art classes for students registered throughout the school year.

Annual Blood Drive
On Tuesday, September 13th students, staff and community members made a choice to save lives and give blood. The annual blood drive was once again a great success!

Life Long Learners are back

Racing for Terry Fox
(September 20thStudents from Kindergarten to Grade 6 took part in Terry Fox race day, which consisted of an assembly to honour and discuss the importance and influence of Terry Fox and his achievements.  Every grade ran a separate race and every child finished, a huge success! Students also enjoyed fresh fruit supplied by school’s PPO (parent participation organization).

A student from each class was chosen for the Harmony “Spirit Award”, which is an award given to a student who demonstrated determination, courage and respect during the previous three weeks of their Physical Education class.  Parent volunteers, community members and teachers worked together to encourage and help support this initiative.

Day and Evening Courses are a Go!
Another year with great courses! Cross training and Irish dancing have partnered once again to offer community courses that will keep them in shape and benefit their health! Lifelong learning courses are also offered such as creative writing classes, book club and knitting by the Monteregie West Community Network

Chateauguay CLC news: The Community Learning Concepts (CLC) approach is the creation and promotion of partnerships which provide a range of services and activities, during and after the school day, to help meet the needs of our learners, their families and the wider community. The aim is to support the holistic development of our students, families and communities.
