Mad Science Invasion!
St.Willibrord and Mary Gardner School are slowing turning their students into mad scientists! Mad Science is partnering up with NFSB schools to offer great educational, hands on after school science activities. Students have the opportunity to learn about science in a fun environment all while having a great time!
Centennial Park School
Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser
The school’s parent participation organization helped organize a spaghetti fundraiser to reduce costs for the Grade 6 graduation. This great night could not have been possible without the volunteers and La Rencontre Chateauguoise for preparing the meal. Thank you for all the support!
On Thursday, March 2, Students from Grades 3-6 presented their projects on health and nutrition in a science fair layout for peers and staff during the day followed up with presentations for families in the evening.
Intro to Irish Dancing
Our community partner Janice Young who teaches evening Irish dancing courses, gave her time on March 16 to teach the whole school the basics of Irish Dancing. Everyone had a great time learning Irish Dancing following along Janice and her crew.
Adopt a Grandparent
This program started on March 20 with great success thanks to the partnership with the Montérégie West Community Network. Conversations amongst seniors and students were wonderful to hear!
Visit from the Queen
Students were in awe meeting last year’s Irish Queen from the Chateauguay Valley Irish Heritage Association. Amy Waugh and her grandfather/past president, Fred, encouraged the children to get involved and go to the Saint Patrick Parade.
Eco Museum visits the school
The Eco Museum visited Grade 3 and 4 students on March 14. The presentation consisted of seeing live amphibians, mammals, birds, and the group discussed the importance of protecting our eco system.

After School Homework Support
The SOS (Support Our Students) after school homework program is open from Monday to Thursday, offering homework help along with organizational and study skills help for students.
Black History Month
Montreal musician Annakin Slayd brought his Jackie Robinson presentation to the school for Black History Month in February.
Spirit week took place just before March Break! The Prefect students organized very successful week of events including treats at lunch, music & dance, and dodgeball. Thank you for all the hard work it was a fantastic week!
New Fronteirs School Board CLC – News & Notes
On March 22, the Centre intégré de santé et services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie-Ouest held its very first consultation on access to health and social services for the English speaking population. With over fifty different organisations present it was an opportunity to discuss good practices, network and update the next access program plan for health and social services (CISSS-MO). Thank you to all the organisations who helped make the event possible, CISSS-MO (Centre Intégré de santé et service social de la Montérégie Ouest), ARC (Assistance and Referral Centre), NFSB (New Frontiers School Board), MWCN (Montérégie West Community Network).
The Community Learning Centre (CLC) approach is the creation and promotion of partnerships which provide a range of services and activities, during and after the school day, to help meet the needs of our learners, their families and the wider community. The aim is to support the holistic development of our students, families and communities.
